Roleplaying - Why Do We Need It? Empty

A common question that comes up in the discussion of roleplaying is 'why'? As much as some players love the idea that they can transform their random strength wrestler into a unique personality of their own making, some players view it more as something they would rather not do because they don't see any benefit. This topic outlines the direct and indirect benefits of active roleplaying, and how being an active part of story progression is positive for both the roster and for you the wrestler.

Roleplaying is a Requirement of Federations
It is dictated by TWG administrators that federations are required to provide a minimum amount custom content to each federation show, in the form of promotional segments.

Submitted Segments Means Better Production
The segments will be produced regardless of whether roster members actively roleplay or not, but it makes the process considerably easier on HOW staff if roster members submit their segments to help control the direction of their specific wrestler.

Better Segments Mean Better Exposure
Producing compelling storylines and making segments that people can't help but talking about in TWG chat helps expose other players to High Octane Wrestling and improves recruitment of other active members.

Better Exposure Means Better Popularity
Active members and active roleplayers tend to give more care to their wrestlers and as a result grow more steadily, allowing the federation to grow more steadily and improve its popularity. More popularity and advancing wrestlers directly equates to more income for everyone in High Octane Wrestling.

Contract Negotiation
While High Octane Wrestling needs income to book matches, improve the arena, and perform additional tasks, we understand that giving more fantaeuros to active and contributing members will help them grow more and in turn will improve the High Octane show. More income to active members for growth means more income for High Octane, which is a cycle that continues for the mutual benefit of all involved. A player's active participation in improving the federation and making compelling shows will be taken into account considerably when netotiating new contracts. Keep in mind there are a limited number of each contract level (Legend/Main Eventer/Jobber/etc) but merchandise sales becomes a larger financial factor as popularity rises.
